In a unique twist on their stand about parental rights, the Florida house has voted on a law, sending to the Florida Senate, to Ban social media for those under 16.  This is an increasing trend in both blue and red states.  Red states ban their use, blue states make it one sided content under the guise of misinformation.  Rather than teaching people to research and think we’re banning and taking away parental rights.

​France bans wearing of Hijabs in public, creating further divisions amongst it population and potentially violating its constitution and the EU agreement. This could threaten its economic status, but came from a growing populist argument. 
 
Inflation report came out, month to month inflation via CPI is decreasing.  The PCE, rate the fed uses, came in at 3.7% down from 5.5% in November.
 
Houthi rebels continue to attack ships in Red Sea, forcing shipping companies to reroute their ships around Africa, a place they had been avoiding due to Somali and other Pirates, driving shipping costs up as high as 58% increase over last 10 days for a container and adding 1mm plus in fuel costs per ship.  This may also delay goods arriving in US and store shelves creating both a backlog at ports and empty shelves, which could drive inflation back up.
 
Small Business starts, per SBA, are showing dramatic increases up 70% from November.
 
Trump wins Iowa Caucuses.  New Hampshire next Primary but only for republicans.  Democrats will hold a NH primary but it will not be certified.
 
Michigan wins national championship in football but might lose coach. And College football turned upside down with coaching changes.

Measles outbreak again among news that 2mm kindergarten age children did not get MMR vaccines before school year.  This on top of a reduction in flu vaccines as well among one of the worst flu outbreaks in years.  
 
Primary care physicians have said their store front visits have dropped 15% but their tele health has increased 45%

Alaska Airlines loses door at takeoff, grounding over 1000 planes overnight.
 
Another school shooting, but the school Principal is the hero here putting life on the line to save students.

​US Navy sinks 3 Houthi rebel boats attacking another cargo vessel, putting the shipping lanes further in peril and seeing almost 400% rise in shipping costs going into 2024.
 
There is severe voter fatigue among the early states, voters not happy with Biden or shenanigans of Trump, possible there might be a surprise voting in primary.
 
200 well known people are released in Jeremy Epstein documents including Bill Clinton and several others.
 
Michigan and Washington are set to clash as undefeated teams in the College National Championship.
 
Claudine Gay president of Harvard resigns, concluding shortest tenure in Harvard History as president among over 50 charges of plagiarism in her work.  This sparked racial divides and fissures.
