I looked at the market as a whole and saw there were some things that were missing, and people really only had three choices.
So I went out and designed a model that I know is unique but it works. I can work with people in three ways, train you how to do it (traditional wholesaler), partner with you ( I go on app and do everything for you, but you work under my hierarchy to be able to get the override 20-80 you split) or do it for you (I’m the only one on the app, and I give you 60-40 taking renewals for myself and doing all the servicing.)
I chose certain companies that I felt were solid and had the products I wanted plus they had the underwriting stability and access I wanted as well. The products I focused on were whole life, Disability Insurance, UL, and Long Term Care. I do have other companies I can use through a BGA relationship, but I lose control on those, and my pay is limited on those as I have to do it based on their structure. So I hope this help you.
- Be with a career company and have specific goals they need you to do for their product.
- Go out and get your own contracts with independent companies and try to maintain high quotas with certain companies to get higher payouts
- Work with a BGA who aggregates business to get you the higher payout, but may not give you the same service you might want, depending on your production.
