What exactly is an entrepreneur though? This is a tough definition for anyone to really figure out, but I truly feel an entrepreneur is someone that is willing to open up their mind, body, spirit, and finances to attack to build a greater future for themselves, the community or both. I have a friend who is a successful entrepreneur and also a successful environmentalist and he uses his ability as an entrepreneur to create grass roots movement to fix the causes important to him.
An entrepreneur is a business owner, and is one who has a strong vision. However, an entrepreneur can’t do it alone usually. This is someone that needs help in strategic areas they are weak in. A successful entrepreneur can set their vision and then figure out the people or areas they need help in. They will take the risk, but they bring in the help to get them over the top.
This is an entrepreneur, one that will follow their vision and figure out exactly what they need to do in order to be successful. They are also a person that will commit heart and soul to building their “empire” and will sacrifice what it takes to accomplish that goal.
Entrepreneurs are confused with business owners. You can be an independent contractor and be on your own building your business but that does not make you an entrepreneur. What make you that special level are the steps you take to get there. The sacrifice, the diligence, but the most importantly the vision. Entrepreneurs do things on a grander scale trying to involve the community and their business, not in a selfish way, but in a growing way. They want to build something big not just build something.
Some qualities of a successful one are:
· Communication Skills
· Leadership Skills
· Management Skills
· Unselfish Behavior
· Empire Builder
These are some characteristics I feel are important. What do you think? What is your definition of an entrepreneur? The basic definition of an entrepreneur is a risk taking business person who initiates or finances new commercial enterprises.
These are the people that drive our economy. They open up new industries and create new universes to explore. Some reading this article might have entrepreneurial traits, opening up their own practice or business, but did they do something different, are they building an empire. Remember entrepreneurs are business owners, but not all business owners are entrepreneurs.
